A system-wide “computer equipment problem” has delayed the start of BART train service Friday morning, the transit agency has announced.
The incident began at 7:20 a.m. “following network upgrade work; which is preventing the start of service this morning,” according to 511.org.
BART has advised commuters to “seek alternative means of transportation.”

“This is related to an ongoing upgrade [to] our computer network system,” a BART rep told TBS on Friday morning. “We do this work continuously during the hours we are not running. It is not a one night project.”
