Two people in masks took more than 100 cartons of cigarettes from the owner of a Berkeley gas station during a robbery Tuesday evening, authorities report.
Berkeley police say the owner of the 76 station at 1830 Solano Ave. (at Colusa Avenue) had left the city Tuesday to restock his supply.
When he got back to the gas station, a silver car pulled up and two males in black masks accosted him at about 5:40 p.m.
One of them broke the owner’s car window and began taking all the cigarette cartons out, police said.
The owner was also pushed during the robbery, police said.
Afterward, the pair fled south on Colusa Avenue.
Police say they have not determined whether pair had followed the owner back to the gas station or not.
The robbery investigation is ongoing.
